Meet the horticulturist
Kara Delbrouck
Kara graduated from the Camosun College Horticulture Technician program 2013 and has been working in the field ever since. Her decade in the trade has allowed her to hone her skills in many aspects of horticulture but especially the identification, selection, pruning and health of plants. Kara is passionate about continuing her education in horticulture and seeks out scientific research in horticulture to bring a fact-based approach to her gardening practice. In her spare time, Kara can be found working in her own garden, meeting with friends in the industry to discuss anything horticulture, attending lectures and events by local gardening groups, volunteering at environmental restoration events, and taking hikes to observe native plants in their natural habitat.
Kara started Bilston Creek Horticulture in 2019 and has been proudly serving the Westshore and surrounding CRD since. The name Bilston Creek Horticulture was chosen to reflect her love of the local natural spaces and plants in the place she calls home, the Bilston Creek Watershed, which spans Langford and Metchosin.
